Tamara Garcia Assistant Property Manager at Smart Move PM

Tamara Garcia, Assistant Property Manager at Smart Move Property Management, in the Boise office.

Tamara keeps maintenance, repairs, and property turnovers on track. She is a proud member of the National Association of Residential Property Managers (NARPM) and makes sure maintenance requests are handled quickly, professionally, and with the right fix in mind. She is also EPA Lead-Safe certified, which matters on repair work in older homes.

She works directly with residents to understand the problem, troubleshoot, coordinate access, and keep them posted while the repair happens. On the vendor side, she works with our trusted maintenance network to schedule the work, gather estimates, and confirm the job was done right. She also keeps owners in the loop when an issue comes up, explaining the recommended repair, what it will cost, and what happens next.

From routine repairs and preventative maintenance to after-hours emergencies and fast vacancy turnovers, Tamara keeps the pieces organized. Good maintenance protects the owner's investment, keeps disruption low for residents, holds costs down, and gets the job done right the first time. Her steady attitude, clear communication, and sharp eye for detail turn a stressful situation into a well-managed one.

When she is not coordinating the next repair or turnover, Tamara enjoys hiking and taking her Jeep out four-wheeling, preferably somewhere with plenty of dirt, trails, and a little mud.

How Smart Move Handles Maintenance

Smart Move has managed Boise-area rentals since 2005, and maintenance is where most of the trust gets built. A repair handled slowly can cost an owner a good resident. A repair handled carelessly usually costs more the second time.

Our founder, Andrea Mayer, owns rentals herself, including a few out of state, so she has been the owner sitting on the other end waiting for an update. That shaped how we run this side of the business. Get the request in front of the right vendor quickly. Tell the owner what the work will cost before it starts. Keep the resident informed while it happens.

Two decades in, we manage roughly 225 homes across the Treasure Valley. Those homes hold their condition because someone is paying attention to them every week.
